Edible Organic Green Tea grilled Tofu

Yield: 8 servings


1 lb firm tofu (cut into 1 inch square)
1 1/2 cups hot water
3 tsp. Edible Organic Green Tea Leaves (ground)
½ tsp garlic salt
3 Tbsp honey
½ c teriyaki sauce
1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 medium zucchini (cut into 1 inch rounds)
8 Baby Bella mushrooms (cleaned)
1 lg green pepper cut into 1 inch squares
2 Tbsp olive oil
Non-stick grill spray
8 – 6 inch wooden skewers

Optional: ½ small pineapple or 1 inch corn on the cub


Place meat in bowl.  Mix teriyaki sauce, Worcestershire sauce, garlic salt, hot water, honey and edible organic green tea leaves, pour over tofu.  Cover and refrigerate overnight or let stand at room temperature 2 hours, stirring occasionally.  Drain tofu, reserving marinade.

If using pineapple – remove crown from pineapple, cut off peel and remove any eyes, slice pineapple then cut into 1 inch wedges.

Assemble Kabobs on skewers – thread tofu alternately with green pepper, mushroom and zucchini base with olive oil grill 8 minutes turn on grill and brush with marinade, grill another 7 minutes, turn again and base with marinade grill 7 minutes more.  (If using pineapple or corn be sure to alternate with those also)
