1 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup orange juice
4 whole cloves
1 tsp edible organic green tea leaves (finely chopped)
¼ cup orange liqueur
1 quart champagne
4 pears (peeled with stems intact)
In sauce pot combine the sugar, vanilla and orange juice for about 3 minutes to create simple syrup. Add cloves, edible organic green tea, champagne and orange liqueur to simple syrup. Bring to a simmer add pears, poach until tender about 8 minutes. Remove from heat and cool.
Optional: Serve with toasted chopped pistachios or toasted almonds.
